Linda M. Peterson Artworks...watercolor, collage, weaving, stained glass

watercolor

Picture
"Bitterroot"
This piece was painted in the studio from several photos. The watercolor paper has been painted with a coat of gesso. The gesso allows for more lifting of the paint. Thus, I was able to pull out thin lines of white areas.

collage

"Edge of Winter" collage
Last year I began to explore with collage techniques. I have collected many scraps of colored paper from the Batik Watercolor process. I began to cut and tear the papers into collages. This collage became part of a trade when another artist (a woodworker) became interested in this piece. I love my turned piece of wood.

weaving

Picture
Weaving an afghan on my loom.
My loom is a Lecrec. Just wide enough to weave a nice sized afghan. This afghan was woven with acrylic yarns, so it was nice and soft and also washable.

stained glass

Stained Glass Window for Cove Methodist Church
Two of these windows were made for the Cove, OR Methodist Church. The windows were so large that they had to be made in sections. Each window contained 9 sections. I scattered the pale background pieces to give the windows a 1900"s feel.

fused glass piece

Picture
"Endure" fused glass
This is a small piece of fused glass I made to go with a set of three pieces. The pieces depict woodland scenes in different seasons.

portrait painting

Picture
"Pendleton Round-up Dancer"
I have painted many portraits. Although I do not paint so many anymore. It takes practice and skill to study the details of the features. This dancer wore an outfit of many colors which was fun to incorperate in the portrait.
