Why I Paint

I love painting en plein air.

Linda grew up in Burns, Oregon. Her inspiration comes from the sights and smells of the High Desert of Eastern Oregon, where she spent much of her youth exploring the country side. Linda is a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and a member of the Threadbenders Weaving Guild. Linda is most known for her paintings of florals and landscapes. She is also known for her many stained glass windows in numerous churches throughout Eastern Oregon. Linda graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a degree in Secondary Education with an art background and an extended fifth year degree from Western Oregon University. Linda has also worked as an Artist-in-Education, teaching watercolor and weaving to children in schools throughout a ten county region in Eastern Oregon.
Linda and three of her painting friends have formed a group called Batik Convergence: Jan Clark, Sue Orlaske, and Denise Elizabeth Stone. Batik Watercolor is a method of painting with watercolors on handmade papers. Beeswax is used to create a resist for the paint. The group has had many group shows in galleries. Linda has won many awards for her paintings and has had numerous one man shows in galleries. One of Linda's paintings won Best of Show at the 3rd annual Union County Arts and Culture Center in La Grande, OR. "I hope you enjoy visiting my web site and looking at my artworks."
